My Pitch
I want to create a lifestyle magazine for aspirational 16–25-year-olds, like that of esquire and GQ. The magazine will be focused on the contextual interests, and problems, that this market faces on a day-to-day basis. I aim to draw the 16–25-year-old aspirational audience to the magazine by addressing their materialistic needs of todays society. I aim to achieve this by features of luxury items that this young demographic aspire to achieve, as they act as a symbol of status. For example, use of luxury cars and watches through advertisements, and frequent use of articles referring to work and money- like crypto currency for example. while also addressing the deeper personal and moral issues in politics and the ever-developing world through use of photos of political figures and articles addressing the most up to date issues in politics and societal challenges.Furthermore, I will be using frequent use of celebrity appearances to give credit to what is being produced- providing a USP in the extremely diluted and failing market of newspapers.
Mood Board
Evolve - the magazine appeals to a middle market audience who are aspirational , therefore they are inclined to be ‘better’ and evolve.
Mindset – the magazine appeals to a middle market audience through use celebrity appearance and often materialistic items, so the aspirational target market would be inclined to buy to get that ‘mindset’ to achieve what they aspire for.
Listen– by use of using ’listen’ implores the audience to be drawn to the magazine. The title itself tells the audience to listen to what is being given to them, furthermore with use of celebrity endorsement and materialistic items the audience may feel as the celebrity is telling them to listen or even due to the items presented they are more likely to listen, as they are aspirational.
